On Thursday, President Donald Trump confirmed during a press conference at the southern border in Eagle Pass, Texas, that he had spoken to the parents of the young Georgia nursing student.
He said that they were “devastated beyond belief. The president further vowed, “Joe Biden will NEVER say Laken Riley’s name – but WE will say it and we’re NOT going to forget it.”
Laken Hope Riley was a student at the University of Georgia and a member of the UGA chapter of Alpha Chi Omega, News Nation reported. Thousands of Georgians gathered in her honor in the past week during a vigil, and on Friday afternoon, her funeral service was scheduled to take place at the Woodstock City Church, per the outlet.
