MELANIA TRUMP IS BACK ON THE CAMPAIGN TRAIL WITH MAJOR GOP FUNDRAISER
First Lady Melania Trump is hitting the campaign trail after taking time to mourn the death of her mother. She will host a fundraising event at Mar-a-Lago for the Log Cabin Republicans on April 20.
The organization’s website describes itself as “the nation’s original and largest organization representing LGBT conservatives and straight allies who support fairness, freedom, and equality for all Americans.”
Melania Trump has been involved with the Log Cabin Republicans for many years. In November 2021, the organization awarded her with the Spirit of Lincoln award at its annual Gala, which was held at Mar-a-Lago.
A press release before the gala said that Melania Trump’s support of the organization “has been a signal to Republicans everywhere that it is possible to simultaneously be conservative and support equality under the law for all Americans.”
The April fundraising event will launch the organization’s “Road to Victory” get-out-the-vote program, which focuses on reaching voters in swing states, according to Politico.

Richard Grenell, former Acting Director of National Intelligence and ambassador to Germany during the Trump administration, will attend the event with many other Republican donors. Grenell was honored with the organization’s Game Changer award during the 2021 gala.
Media outlets have speculated whether Melania Trump will play an active role in President Trump’s reelection bid. After voting in Florida’s presidential primary election, she told reporters to “stay tuned” when asked for a timeline of when she would return to the campaign trail.
