Republican House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, R-La., announced his endorsement of President Donald Trump’s presidential bid in 2024 on Monday via social media.
“I am proud to endorse Donald Trump for president in 2024, and I look forward to working with President Trump and a Republican House and Senate to fight for those families who are struggling under the weight of Biden’s failed policies,” he stated.
Rep. Scalise included a link to his full endorsement on Fox News, which explained in depth his reasoning for endorsing the 45th president’s 2024 presidential run to reclaim the White House in November.
Under the Trump administration, Scalise said, “The economy was strong and interest rates were low — grocery costs were affordable, and families could afford to buy a house and provide for their children,” Scalise continued.
He also said that the border was safe, which was different from the present uncontrolled chaos at the southern border that the Biden government is in charge of. Scalise made fun of things like increasing inflation, interest rates that are out of sight, and rising mortgage rates.
The House Majority Leader lauded Trump as a “strong leader” who can “fix the problems Joe Biden has created and – with rising aggression from adversaries abroad – deter foreign actors who wish to harm us…”
The Iowa caucuses, which will start the 2024 Republican primary race, are coming up in less than two weeks. Rep. Scalise’s strong support comes at a crucial time.
In his endorsement, the congressman pointed out that under the Biden administration, “our communities aren’t safe” and argued that “American families and workers deserve a president who will stand up for them and their safety, rescue us from failed Bidenomics, and restore our nation to greatness.”
