Despite the deluge of negative news and fear, hope persists. During the Black Conservative Federation Honors Gala, Dr. Ben Carson, retired neurosurgeon and former U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, candidly addressed America’s decline and the need for strong leadership.

The Lord provides
Dr. Ben Carson spoke to this specific issue on Saturday, using a biblical example to illustrate a common-sense point. He said, “King David – who murdered, who committed adultery, who did all kinds of things – God said, ‘He’s a man after my own heart,’ because he repented and he sought redemption from God.”
Dr. Carson also addressed the criticism from voters who may love Trump’s policies but claim they “just can’t stand him.”
He continued, “I say, what if you were sick and you had a terrible disease that required skillful surgery? Which surgeon would you rather have? The one who has terrible bedside manner, but has a tremendous record? Or the one who has a wonderful bedside manner but kills everybody?”
He concluded, “God will provide us with what we need.”

Indeed, God has given America the leadership it needs, even in these distressing and tumultuous times. Donald Trump was the president nobody saw coming, and when he burst onto the political scene years ago, it changed the nation and the world.
For such a time as this
“I’m a very proud Christian, actually,” Trump said at the NRB. He stated that he’s been “very busy” this year “taking the bullets, taking the arrows” on behalf of the American people. With an egregiously long list of felony charges and over-the-top rulings from leftist courts in places like New York, Trump certainly is persecuted like no other president has ever been politically targeted in this country.
The president hammered the importance of the Christian vote home last week, adding, “Christians: they can’t afford to sit on the sidelines in this fight…they have to do what they have to do, and they have to WIN.”
President Trump is the man who chose to jump into the fray and fight for America despite having a wonderful life filled with wealth, luxury, and success. Taking the “bullets” and “arrows” was not something that he had to do.
Dr. Ben Carson’s comments come to mind once again when Americans are forced to look at the smoldering wreckage of Biden’s leadership: “The Lord provides different kinds of leadership for different times.”
In the Bible, Queen Esther saved her people from ruin and destruction because she found the courage to speak up and do what was right during a distressing period of history.
Thousands of years ago, when Esther was painfully considering the ramifications of going to the king on behalf of the Jews, her cousin Mordecai sent her this message: “For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” (Esther 4:14)
Lara Trump is right – Donald J. Trump was made for such a time as this, and in November, Christians and people of faith in this country should show him the same support and stalwart loyalty that he has shown them over the past several years. The fate of the nation and their freedom to worship depends on it.
