TRUMP WARNS AGAINST THE DANGERS OF NOT PROTECTING PRESIDENTIAL IMMUNITY

Donald Trump, the 45th president of the United States, recently faced a significant legal ruling. The D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals declared that he does not have presidential immunity¹.

This immunity, which Mr. Trump had claimed, would shield him from criminal charges related to acts he believed fell within his presidential duties. However, the court’s decision struck down that claim, allowing for potential prosecution on charges related to the 2020 election².

RSBN reported that the court ruled that President Trump must be tried and potentially prosecuted by U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan.

When the ruling was first revealed, President Trump’s spokesman, Steven Cheung, published a press release. Cheung wrote, “Prosecuting a President for official acts violates the Constitution and threatens the bedrock of our Republic.” 

Trump writes that the problem with having no presidential immunity is that “the Presidency will lose its power and prestige, and under some Leaders, have no power at all.”

President Trump warned followers on Truth Social about the dangers of this decision.

He wrote, “If a President does not have immunity, the Opposing Party, during his/her term in Office, can extort and blackmail the President.”

He elaborated on what this blackmail would look like, explaining that the opponents could say, “If you don’t give us everything we want, we will Indict you for things you did while in Office,’ even if everything done was totally Legal and Appropriate.”

In closing, President Trump gravely warned about what would happen if this blackmail occurred, saying, “That would be the end of the Presidency, and our Country, as we know it, and is just one of the many Traps there would be for a President without Presidential Immunity.” 

President Trump also added that without presidential immunity, “Crooked Joe Biden would all be in PRISON. Protect Presidential Immunity. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” 

According to RSBN, the Trump campaign will appeal this unconstitutional decision to “safeguard the Presidency and the Constitution.” At the same time, Donald Trump Jr. called for the United States Supreme Court to step in.
