TRUMP SET TO PARTICIPATE IN LIVE-STREAMED TOWN HALL EVENT ON X
Trump will participate in a first-of-its-kind live-streamed town hall event on X, formerly Twitter, where he will answer user-submitted questions from the event’s moderators.
The social media giant partnered with NewsNation to broadcast the event on cable television. Axios reported that the idea came from X CEO Linda Yaccarino, who said that she wants X to be the platform where Americans wishing to participate in the political process can make their voices heard.
While no date has been set, certain details about the event have been made public. The moderators, which will likely include a host from NewsNation, will choose from questions submitted by X users in real-time.
Trump was the first president to use social media to speak directly to the American people daily, which has proven to be an effective way to counter the mainstream media narratives.

The 45th president has only posted on X one time since his account was restored by Elon Musk shortly after he acquired the company in October 2022. After his suspension from Twitter in January 2021, President Trump released statements to the American people until the launch of his social media platform, Truth Social.
X also confirmed that independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will participate in a separate town hall event. The Wall Street Journal reported that Biden’s campaign declined when asked if he would do a town hall event or debate on the platform.
Musk has led the charge in resisting the prescribed narrative adopted by nearly every large corporation in the United States. He has repeatedly discussed the importance of protecting free speech, which has been under assault for the last several years.
Following the unprecedented conviction of President Trump on Thursday by a New York jury, Musk took to X to express his opinion on the matter.
He shared a post from Geiger Capital about the historical nature of the conviction, captioning it with, “Indeed, great damage was done today to the public’s faith in the American legal system.”

Musk continued, writing, “If a former President can be criminally convicted over such a trivial matter – motivated by politics, rather than justice – then anyone is at risk of a similar fate.”
