TRUMP GIVES ‘VERY SERIOUS CONSIDERATION’ TO PARDONING WIKILEAKS FOUNDER

Trump teased Monday on a podcast that he is giving “very serious consideration” to pardoning WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.

Trump appeared on an episode of political commentator Tim Pool’s show, “Timcast IRL,” prior to speaking at the Libertarian Party convention this weekend.

“We’re going to give it very serious consideration, and we’re going to have a couple of other things to say in the speech that I think you’re going to love,” Trump told Pool.

Assange, 52, was indicted and arrested on April 11, 2019 for 17 charges with one relating to an alleged misuse of his website publication, WikiLeaks, which revealed a handful of classified U.S. documents notably involving Hilary Clinton, according to the Associated Press.

As Assange has been sitting within a London jail, just this month he was granted to appeal an extradition order to the U.S., the outlet reported.

Trump appeared at the Libertarian convention Saturday, to which he received a mix response from the crowd as supporters and non-supporters clashed within the crowd. During his speech, Trump pledged to not only pardon those who participated within the Jan. 6 events, but also “Silk Road” website creator Ross Ulrich.

“If you vote for me, on day one I will commute the sentence of Ross Ulbricht who will have a sentence of time served,” Trump stated. “He’s already served 11 years. We are going to get him home. We are going to get him home.”
