International Union of Police Associations backs Trump

The International Union of Police Associations (IUPA) has officially endorsed former President Donald Trump’s 2024 bid to return to the White House. This endorsement highlights Trump’s unwavering support for law enforcement throughout his tenure.

IUPA President Sam Cabral expressed their endorsement, stating, “President Trump’s history of support for the men and women of Law Enforcement is unmatched. His policies and actions were directed at improving safety in our communities and the men and women who provide that shield. He has earned and deserves our wholehearted support.”

The endorsement comes amidst a backdrop of political debates surrounding law enforcement. While Trump has consistently condemned the “defund the police” movement, he has advocated for bolstering border security and enhancing law enforcement nationwide. Last year, he outlined plans to tackle rising crime, including the creation of federal stop-and-frisk policies and legal protections for police officers.

In contrast, the IUPA criticized the Democratic doctrine, which they believe supports defunding the police, favors sanctuary cities, open borders, and reduced accountability for criminal behavior.
