‘TRUMP, TRUMP, TRUMP!’: LETITIA JAMES FACES NEW YORKERS’ WRATH AT FDNY CEREMONY

New York Attorney General Letitia James hasn’t won any popularity points with the people of New York City in the wake of the over-the-top civil fraud ruling against Donald Trump last month.

During a New York firefighter’s ceremony on Thursday, James took the podium to deliver remarks. She was loudly booed as she stepped onstage. Following the boos, the audience proceeded to chant, “TRUMP, TRUMP, TRUMP!”

James made an attempt to dismiss the unfavorable reaction by saying, “Oh, come on, we’re in God’s house.” To start with, huhCalm down, please.

James led the civil fraud lawsuit against Trump in February, which resulted in a $454 million judgment against the president and a three-year ban on his participation as a senior officer in a New York real estate company. The restriction also applied to his sons.

President Trump vigorously fought the decision in late February. The notices of appeal, which were submitted on February 25, according to the Associated Press, contend that the court need to take into account whether Judge Arthur Engoron “committed errors of law and/or fact” in his decision.

Long before she was appointed the state’s attorney general, AG James began her intense pursuit of Trump, who over the course of a decades-long career amassed a vast real estate empire in New York.

James has been documented on tape as promising to “sue him [Trump]” and be “a real pain in the ass.” She also referred to him as an “illegitimate president” and vowed that her personal distaste for Trump was “fueling my soul.”

The civil fraud ruling in New York is one of several legal venues where Trump is doing battle during the 2024 election. He has repeatedly called the courtroom battles “ELECTION INTERFERENCE.”

In the wake of the ruling in February, the president explained that it was “A DARK AND SAD DAY FOR THE JUSTICE SYSTEM IN NEW YORK STATE.”
