TRUMP CALLS OUT JUDGE ENGORON FOR REFUSING TO DROP GAG ORDER
Trump spoke out this weekend about the gag order that New York Judge Arthur Engoron imposed upon him last year, which was upheld by an appeals court in January, preceding Engoron’s shocking multi-million-dollar judgment against the president.
Trump argued on Truth Social on Sunday, “This is a confrontation between a Judge and those that rule above him – A very bad situation in which to place New York State and the Rule of Law! Engoron has disrespected the Appellate Division and its very clear and precise ruling. He should be made to do so, and at the same time, release the GAG ORDER.”
Trump also derided Engoron for refusing to abide by the decision of the “Appellate Division relative to the Statute of Limitations.”

The president has argued before that the majority of the civil fraud case was, essentially, a non-case because of the statute of limitations. Last fall, an appeals court ruled that the statute of limitations in the case was 2014, per the New York Post. Engoron later stated that “the statute of limitations bars claims, not evidence.”
In March, Trump won a big victory in the case, which had originally required him to post more than $450 million in bond to appeal the civil fraud judgment. An appeals court ruled last month that the bond could be lowered to $175 million, thus protecting Trump’s New York real estate assets from being seized.
Trump said, “We will abide by the decision of the Appellate Division, and post either a bond, equivalent securities, or cash. This also shows how ridiculous and outrageous Engoron’s original decision was at $450 Million.”

Trump argued that New York should “NEVER BE PUT IN A POSITION LIKE THIS AGAIN,” and noted that businesses were leaving the state like never before. “…IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT THIS BE RESOLVED IN ITS TOTALITY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. THANK YOU!” he concluded.
