Trump Secures Massive Endorsement In Bid To Become President Again
Donald Trump, a former president, has recently received a sizable vote of confidence in his campaign for reelection.
The House Freedom Caucus’ founding member, Rep. @Jim Jordan, supports @realDonaldTrump, according to a tweet from the MAGA War Room.
Jordan has been vocal in his support for the former president and recently attacked Democrats for what he sees as being the cause of the several probes that Trump has been the target of.
The statement follows Texas GOP Rep. Chip Roy’s endorsement of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for the 2024 presidential election, despite DeSantis’ lack of a formal announcement.
Roy stated in a fundraising email that “it’s time for younger, but proven, leadership to deliver America eight solid years of transformational change. “Ron DeSantis should take office as president of the United States immediately.”
Jordan claims that the now-disbanded House Committee, which was led by Democrats and was looking into the incident that occurred on January 6, 2021, in the U.S. Capitol, was a “political operation” designed to prevent Donald Trump from running for president in 2024.
“Eleven people, all of whom are citizens of the United States, have been served with subpoenas after requesting official approval to hold the Trump rally. The committee’s request for questions on using their First Amendment right to assemble was granted by the government, who also responded to the January 6 petition. Why did they summon me, too? I spoke to the president, thus I did nothing wrong. I frequently communicate with the president. You know where I stand on this commission, and I just believe that this is all about going after President Trump. That seems rather clear,” Jordan remarked.
“Everyone in the country sees this as a political operation. This is designed to get after President Trump. Because they don’t want him to run again,” he added.
Earlier this year, House Republicans published a damning report detailing the security and intelligence lapses that occurred in the U.S. Capitol on January 6 while California Democrat Rep. Nancy Pelosi was speaker of the House.
Emails and text messages from Pelosi’s office show that her staff regularly met to discuss security detail, assisted in editing the plans of the authorities, and declined a number of requests from federal law enforcement who were required to guard the Capitol that day.
Republicans have retaliated with a counter-investigation, putting the blame for the internal security breakdown on January 6 on Pelosi and a failing Capitol Police intelligence division, according to the New York Post. “Days after Pelosi’s Jan. 6 select committee recommended insurrection charges against former president Donald Trump over the Capitol riot, Republicans have hit back with a counter-investigation,” the publication said.
