TRUMP PROMISES POWERFUL ACTION AGAINST DRUG TRAFFICKERS: ‘WE WILL SHOW NO MERCY ON THE CARTELS’
In a powerful video Thursday, Donald Trump explained how he would stop deadly cartels from gaining a foothold in the United States as president, noting that America is being “poisoned from within” by drugs and other violent crimes.
He said, “Fentanyl, heroin, meth, and other deadly drugs are pouring across our wide-open borders, taking tens of thousands of beautiful American lives. And it’s happening like never before in our history. Children are being left without parents, families are being torn apart, Communities are being destroyed, our neighbors and fellow citizens are having their entire worlds destroyed – destroyed in ways no one thought possible.”
Calling attention to the horrors perpetrated by drug dynasties, he declared that it was time to “take America to war on the cartels.”
Trump slammed Joe Biden for siding with the cartels in this situation, saying drug runners are making “ten times” more money than ever before.

Trump has previously slammed the Biden administration for allowing drug and human trafficking to flourish along the southern border. “Cartels and human traffickers have seen their incomes skyrocket,” he told a crowd of protesters in Mesa, Arizona, in October.
Trump also said, “When I’m president again, the policy of the United States will be to take down the cartels “the way we took out ISIS and the ISIS caliphate. We will show no mercy to the cartels. Every day, drug traffickers use our waters to send their deadly poison into America. So that people are killing… In addition to restoring strong border security, I will deploy all necessary military assets, including the US Navy. Naval sanctions on cartels. I’ve done it before and it worked.”
Trump took his promises a step further, pledging to direct the Defense Department to make appropriate use of special forces, cyber warfare and other overt and covert measures to do as much damage as possible to the cartels’ infrastructure. He also promised to designate the cartels as foreign terrorist organizations.
The 45th president added a simple but powerful warning to neighboring countries: “Either we will get the full cooperation of other governments to stop this menace, or we will expose every bribe, every kickback, every bribe that is allowing the cartels to maintain their brutal reign.”
And finally, Trump said he would ask Congress to confirm the death penalty for drug traffickers and human traffickers.
