Trump Posts Powerful Message In First Tweet Since Being Unbanned By Musk

Former President Donald Trump was unbanned from Twitter by CEO Elon Musk months ago but had refrained from posting on the newly renamed platform “X” — until Thursday night.

After his arrest and booking in Fulton County, Georgia, on racketeering charges related to alleged attempts to overturn the 2020 election results, Trump cracked open his X account with a post containing his official mug shot and the words:

This week, Trump broke multiple social media records, beginning on Wednesday night when his much-awaited interview with Tucker Carlson on X (formerly Twitter) went viral and received tens of millions of views in a matter of minutes.

In fact, the interview received 254 million views and counting between Wednesday and Friday am.

On Thursday night, when Trump was processed at the Fulton County jail in Georgia and his mugshot was made public, he made history once more. A mugshot of a previous president has never been taken.

The president immediately used the opportunity to post his own mugshot to X with the caption, “ELECTION INTERFERENCE[.] NEVER SURRENDER! DONALDJTRUMP.COM[.]”

Trump’s post on X marked the first time that the 45th president had returned to the platform since he was banned in 2021 when Jack Dorsey was at the helm of the company.

As the social media platform is under the leadership of SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk, Trump’s account has been reinstated.

President Trump’s first post back on Facebook earned an astounding 142 million views between Thursday night and Friday morning.

Trump’s mugshot will undoubtedly rank among the most recognizable images in history.

The NYT reports that Fani Willis, the district attorney for Fulton County, has requested a September arraignment date. 18 more persons have also been charged in connection with the case.

President Trump made a few quick remarks to the waiting reporters next to Trump Force One shortly after being processed at the Fulton County jail.

“What has taken place here is a travesty of justice…I did nothing wrong,” he told reporters.

Despite Trump’s return to X, he remarked on his own social media platform late Thursday evening, “I LOVE TRUTH SOCIAL. IT IS MY HOME!”

You are the Greatest President. Been waiting since I voted against Carter for the corruption to be brought out. I praise the Lord that you have not given up on us. May Jesus Christ be with you.
