According to polling, only President Donald Trump can defeat Joe Biden in a 2024 contest for the Republican nomination.

Voters believe that the 45th president is the best choice for the GOP to win the next presidential election, according to the latest political sentiment tracker issued by Premise.

Americans who were given the choice preferred President Trump over Vice President Joe Biden to govern the nation. In the final results, Trump received 43 percent of the vote, while Biden received 38 percent.

On the other hand, Governor DeSantis, a Republican from Florida, did not have the same level of support from the respondents. In a general election race, 37% stated they would vote for Joe Biden as opposed to 33% who would vote for the Florida governor.

In addition, Trump is the clear favorite among Republicans to win the nomination for president.

The poll indicates that Donald Trump has a commanding lead of 58 percent over all other primary rivals. Governor DeSantis finished in second place with a massive disadvantage of 37 points against Trump. In addition, former South Carolina governor Nikki Haley came in third with barely 3% of the vote, followed by former vice president Mike Pence with 5%.

Furthermore, a fictitious primary contest between Trump and DeSantis would put Trump’s support on full display. According to the poll, President Trump prevails with a commanding 61 percent of the vote over the 26% of voters who supported DeSantis.
