TRUMP HOLDS STRONG LEAD IN RECENT GOP POLLS
Even though Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) only recently declared his campaign, President Donald Trump continues to hold a significant and convincing lead in the most recent GOP 2024 primary election surveys.
According to a recent Fox News survey conducted May 19–22, Gov. DeSantis received 20% of the vote in the GOP presidential primary of 2024, while President Trump received 53% of the vote.
Former Vice President Mike Pence, an unofficial candidate, received just 5% of the vote, while former Republican South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, a certified contender, received 4%.
Additionally, Trump has been holding impressively large leads among Republican voters in a number of pivotal states around the nation. According to a recent National Research poll, the 45th president has a 25-point advantage against DeSantis in South Carolina for the 2024 presidential nomination.
According to a VoteTXT/Newsmakers poll, President Trump in Nevada has a 30-point advantage for the nomination and has the backing of 51% of voters. DeSantis received 21 percent of the vote in the same poll.
Even a widely regarded CNN poll revealed that Trump had 53% of GOP supporters’ support for the nomination in 2024 compared to DeSantis’s 26%.
Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, organized an online Twitter Spaces event where Governor DeSantis deviated from convention and declared his campaign for president in 2024. The governor will soon begin a busy schedule of campaigning in South Carolina, New Hampshire, and Iowa in an effort to close the considerable gap between himself and the MAGA movement’s leader.
DeSantis campaign manager Generra Peck issued the following statement: “We are laser-focused on bringing Governor DeSantis’ forward-thinking vision for restoring America to every potential voter in Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina.”
The governor is slated to officially launch his candidacy on May 30 in Des Moines, Iowa, according to the DeSantis campaign.
