News: TRUMP HAS SPECIAL MESSAGE FOR IMPRISONED JAN. 6 DEFENDANTS: ‘WE’RE GOING TO STOP IT
Donald Trump has a special message this week for those in prison for their involvement in the events surrounding January 6, 2021, Capitol “riot.”
“People have been treated unconstitutionally which I think is very, very unfair,” Trump said in a new video shared on social media. Trump also said, “And we’re going to get to the bottom of it.”
President Donald Trump said, “And you know what I said — I take this very seriously. I’ve never seen anything like this at all. This is a weapon of the judiciary and we can’t let this happen in our country. Because our country is going — not socialist, because They avoided…our country is going communist. This is what happens and we cannot allow it to happen.”
“We have to stop it,” he continued.
Talking about the plight of political prisoners on January 6 is nothing new for Trump. At a rally in Latrobe, Pennsylvania earlier this year, Trump spoke of imprisoned protesters. He said, “Two tiers of justice…no trial. It is against justice.”
He wrote on Truth Social, “Anyone who claims that President Trump is doing nothing pre-judgment on January 6 is either lying or trying to hit him unconscious.” Trump repeatedly said at the rally that “he would pardon the defendants on January 6 if he were president again.”
Trump added, “On January 6, defendants are rotting in jail and being abused and treated like political prisoners by Democrats. It’s terrible. I am one of only two members of Congress who have been in the DC Jail and seen these J6 defendants with my own eyes… After I visited the DC Jail, we prepared a report and published it on my congressional website for all to read. It is called unusually cruel. President Trump read my report and took great interest in how poorly pre-trial J6 defendants are treated. He didn’t know until then.”
Trump also stated, “The ongoing imprisonment of the J6 defendants has been largely ignored by the mainstream media.
So, I want to thank everyone for working so hard. – I know how hard you are working to get justice for those who are suffering in prison right now.”
“We cannot allow this to happen. We’re going to close it. We’re going to win – thank you all very much,” President Trump concluded in his statement.
