NEWS DESANTIS: FLORIDA WILL NOT ASSIST IN EXTRADITION OF PRESIDENT TRUMPNEWS
Disagreements aside, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis criticized the “weaponization of the judicial system” and declared that his state would not assist in extraditing President Trump to face trial by politically driven Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg.
“The weaponization of the legal system to advance a political agenda turns the rule of law on its head,” DeSantis tweeted on Thursday. “It is un-American.”
The governor slammed Bragg, who reportedly received $1 million from left-wing billionaire George Soros, for “stretching the law to target a political opponent.”
DeSantis made it clear that “Florida will not assist in an extradition request given the questionable circumstances at issue with this Soros-backed Manhattan prosecutor and his political agenda.”
The Manhattan District Attorney’s office stated on Twitter that they have contacted Donald Trump’s lawyer to arrange for his surrender and arraignment next week even though the particular accusations against him are yet unknown.
“Guidance will be provided when the arraignment date is selected,” Bragg’s office wrote in a statement.
