Entire State’s Congressional GOP Members Endorse Trump for President
On July 11, 2023, Donald Trump received the support of all six Republican members of Congress from Michigan. Trump is trying to increase his support among GOP voters in the competitive state when he received the endorsements.
The six Republicans who endorsed Trump are:
- Tim Walberg
- Bill Huizenga
- John Moolenaar
- Jack Bergman
- Lisa McClain
- John James
Trump received support in Michigan despite a competitive field of Republican contenders for the 2024 candidacy. Former vice president Mike Pence, governor of Florida Ron DeSantis, and ex-governor of South Carolina Nikki Haley are some additional candidates.
Given that Michigan has been a crucial swing state in recent elections, Trump’s support there is noteworthy. Trump narrowly prevailed in Michigan in 2016, and he intends to do the same in 2024.
The Michigan Republicans supported Trump for a number of reasons, some of which are listed below:
- They believe that he is the best candidate to defeat the Democrats in 2024.
- They appreciate his conservative policies.
- They are loyal to him and his supporter
The endorsements from Michigan’s Republican congressional delegation are a significant boost for his campaign.
Donald Trump has received the support of every Republican member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Michigan who will be running for president in 2024.
“President Donald J. Trump is honored to receive endorsements from the entire Republican Congressional Delegation from Michigan,” the Trump campaign announced Tuesday.
“In 2016, President Trump became the first Republican in 28 years to win Michigan in a Presidential Election, and he looks forward to working with this team to win Michigan’s 15 Electoral Votes next November,” the announcement added.
