Donald Trump shuts down ‘fake news’ rumors about his nickname for DeSantis
Donald Trump slammed the media narrative that he has spent a lot of time coming up with a new moniker for his probable Republican presidential primary opponent, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, telling People on Truth Social that the claims were “100% incorrect.”
He wrote, “All of the Fake News is reporting that I spend large amounts of my time coming up with a good ‘nickname’ for Ron DeSanctimonious, who is obviously going to give the presidential ‘thing’ a shot,”

“They are all 100% wrong, I don’t even think about it – A very unimportant subject to me!!!” he added.
Trump’s remarks came just days after the Florida New York Times reported that Trump was experimenting with different nicknames for DeSantis after sarcastically naming the Republican leader “Ron DeSanctimonious” soon after the 2022 midterm elections.
According to the magazine, Trump has started dubbing DeSantis “Meatball Ron” or “Shutdown Ron” in “casual talks.” But, the president quickly put an end to those rumors with his reaction, which was uploaded on Truth Social.
DeSantis has not yet formally declared his candidacy for president in 2024, but he has also not ruled out running.

DJT is on top!!!”
In January, the president took aim at DeSantis’ political backers, pushing American voters to look into the Florida governor’s background ahead of what is expected to be a fierce political primary campaign if DeSantis does run for president in 2024.
“Ron DeSanctimonious, who I elected Governor in BOTH the Primary and the General, is likewise a Globalist, as are his donors,” Trump previously stated on Truth Social. “Last week, Jeb ‘Low Energy’ Bush was standing next to him. Examine PAST!”
