Donald Trump Saying: A Desantis Run Would “HURT” AND “DIVIDE THE REPUBLICAN PARTY”

When it came to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’s future presidential aspirations, Trump delivered a sobering warning this week, emphasizing that a 2024 presidential candidacy from the well-liked conservative leader would

“Ron DeSantis is a young man who is not doing well against me in the polls, to put it mildly. I believe that if he decides to run for president, which will only hurt and somewhat divide the Republican Party – which we don’t need – he will lose the cherished and massive MAGA vote, and never be able to successfully run for office again. I believe that.” Trump stated in a recent video.

DeSantis has not yet formally declared his intention to run for president, but he has also not ruled it out. The governor of Florida has recently been traveling extensively across the nation, stopping in Nevada, Iowa, Ohio, and Texas, among other crucial battleground states.

“If he remains governor, which is what Florida voters assumed he would do,” Trump continued, cracking a small smile, “it would be a whole different story. Just sayin’. But who knows?”

The president added that staffers for the DeSantis campaign were contacting his own team with employment offers. “Ron’s Poll numbers are dropping so fast and furious that many people are speculating he’s not going to run,” Trump added.

In the Republican 2024 primary election surveys since November, President Trump has regained what appears to be unstoppable momentum.

According to most surveys, Trump has surpassed DeSantis as the preferred GOP nominee by almost 30 points. For instance, the most recent 2024 National Republican Primary survey by Morning Consult (April 14–16) revealed that Trump had received 53% of the GOP vote for the 2024 nomination compared to DeSantis’s 24%.

“I’m leading in Texas by 42 points,” Trump declared. “[And] Iowa and New Hampshire by a lot. Overall, by close to 40 and by 10 against the scammer, Joe Biden.”

Trump is in the lead for the Republican nomination in New Hampshire by 33 points, according to J.L. Partners Polls, and in Iowa by 30 points, according to Interactive Polls.
