DONALD TRUMP QUESTIONS DESANTIS’S LOYALTY IN LENGTHY STATEMENT

Trump released a statement Thursday night questioning his loyalty to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. He made his latest comments after being completely upset by rumors that Governor DeSantis may run for president in 2024.

In the statement, he criticized News Corp., the news media company that owns Fox and the Wall Street Journal. The 45th president wrote that the outlets were “all about Gov. Ron De Sanctimonious” after the outlets published pieces portraying the governor as the new “leader” of the GOP.

DeSantis engaged in a debate with Democrat Charlie Crist in late October, after winning against his opponent, Democrat Charlie Crist. And since then, the tension between Trump and DeSantis has been increasing.

Crist asked DeSantis, “Why don’t you look the people of the state of Florida in the eye and tell them, if you are reelected, you will serve a full four years as governor? Yes or no?”

DeSantis responded after a long silence, instead pivoting to say, “I know that Charlie is interested in talking about 2024 and Joe Biden, but I just want to make things very, very clear. Charlie Crist is the only worn-out, old donkey I’d like to put to pasture.”

In the days leading up to the Nov. 8 election, friction could be felt after Trump nicknamed the Florida governor “Ron de Sanctimonious.” At a rally in Miami, the 45th president told Floridians to get behind the governor if they want to go to the polls. As the mainstream media continued to pit the two against each other, Trump publicly announced that he would vote to re-elect Governor DeSantis after voting in Palm Beach, Florida.

Governor DeSantis has said when asked if he would seek the presidency in 2024, “I’m just focused on the governor’s race, I’m not looking at the future.” Trump issued his own response in a statement Thursday, saying, “Okay. It’s not really the right answer in terms of loyalty and class.”
