DONALD TRUMP LEADS DESANTIS IN FLORIDA: POLL

According to a recent Emerson College poll, Donald Trump has overtaken Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) in terms of favor in the Sunshine State.

In a fictitious GOP presidential primary election in 2024, according to their poll, Trump is ahead of DeSantis with 47 percent of the support from Florida GOP voters to the governor’s 44 percent.

Given that DeSantis won Florida’s reelection in November 2022 with a stunning  20-point victory over his opponent, former Republican turned Democrat Charlie Crist, the outpouring of support from Floridians is a surprise development.

GOP respondents said they would back former Vice President Mike Pence 4% of the vote in that same poll. Pence hasn’t formally declared if he’ll run for president in 2024, though.

Although announcing her campaign for 2024 in February 2023, Nikki Haley, a former governor of South Carolina and ambassador to the United Nations, received only 2% of the vote in Florida.

Since November 2022, President Trump has experienced remarkable growth in the polls. According to RSBN, the 45th president just received a significant amount of support from GOP voters, garnering 54 percent of them in the Morning Consult’s 2024 GOP Primary Tracker. DeSantis received 26% of the vote in that poll.

According to a recent Yahoo/YouGov poll, in a fictitious Republican primary in 2024, 44 percent of Republicans and Republican-leaning Independents would choose Trump, compared to DeSantis’s 28 percent support. Haley received 5% of the respondents’ support, while Pence received 4%.

Premise Statistics, according to RSBN, also demonstrated Trump’s lead in the national polls, with 52 percent of the vote to DeSantis’ 26 percent.

DeSantis hasn’t formally declared his intention to run for president in 2024, but he recently told Piers Morgan that he thought he could defeat Joseph Biden in a fictitious contest, signaling that he appears to have his sights set on the White House.
