According to a Cygnal Poll, Trump won the GOP primary with 46% of the vote, while DeSantis held onto 26% of the vote.
DeSantis hasn’t declared his candidacy for president yet, but after the Florida legislative session adjourns in May, it’s possible that he will.
Last week, President Trump delivered remarks at the Lee County GOP Dinner in Florida, telling Republicans, “We’re going to become the 47th President of the United States, we have to.”
As is customary for any Trump speech or rally, Trump bragged about the “thousands and thousands of people” outside in Lee County prior to the event.
The capacity of the inside venue in Manchester on Thursday was 1,500, according to MAGA Inc spokesperson Karoline Leavitt, although a large number of fans spilled outdoors.
