ATTACKS CONTINUE ON JUSTICE CLARENCE THOMAS

Conservative Supreme Court Judge Clarence Thomas is still the target of several criticisms. The most recent outburst of rage following the recent revelation that Thomas’ great-education nephews was paid for by real estate magnate Harlan Crow has inevitably energized and enraged many on the left.

Fox News reports that a story released by ProPublica on Thursday revealed that Crow had financed the tuition for Thomas’s great-nephew, who Thomas and his wife had taken into their care in 1997, at two private schools.

Thomas’s close friend, lawyer Mark Paoletta tweeted in solidarity with Thomas, “The Thomases love their great nephew. It is despicable that the press has dragged him into their effort to smear Justice Thoma

According to a subsequent report by Fox News, “Paoletta said that in 2006, the Thomases were having trouble finding a school where they could send their great-nephew and that in conversation with Crow and his wife Kathy, Crow recommended that they send him to Randolph-Macon Academy, which Crow had also attended.”

Another piece of information from Fox News stated that “Harlan had sponsored Randolph-Macon financially since the 1980s and funded scholarships for students from underprivileged backgrounds. In 2006, Justice Thomas’ great-tuition nephew was offered to be covered by Harlan, and the money went to the school, according to Paoletta.

Justice Thomas has been demonized by the left since his nomination hearings, which focused on alleged impropriety with Anita Hill, in 1991. Before being confirmed, Justice Thomas referred to the hearings as a “high-tech lynching.” Since then, the left has detested him and made him a target.
