AS NIKKI HALEY JUMPS INTO PRESIDENTIAL RACE, TRUMP MAINTAINS HUGE LEAD
Heading into the 2024 presidential election, President Donald Trump maintains a commanding lead over a field of Republican primary rivals. According to the most recent statistics from Morning Consult’s 2024 Republican Primary Tracker, Trump leads the primary contest by 16 points.
According to their study, 47 percent of potential GOP primary voters picked President Donald Trump as the Republican Party’s 2024 presidential nominee, while 31 percent preferred Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla.

Former Vice President Mike Pence received 7% of the vote, while former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley received 3%.
On Tuesday, Haley declared her campaign for President of the United States, saying it was “time for a new generation of leadership.”
According to RSBN, Haley’s intention to run for president defies her prior commitment to refrain from running if President Trump was running at the same time.

Prior to joining the Trump administration as a U.N. ambassador, Haley was the Republican governor of South Carolina. Following the “insurgency” in the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021, Haley boldly defied the 45th president.
According to The Hill, Haley accused Trump of dividing the American people in the aftermath of the tumultuous 2020 presidential election. She remarked, “His acts since Election Day will be viewed harshly by history.”
Haley’s remarks on President Trump are unlikely to get her any points with MAGA supporters.
Gov. Ron DeSantis is the only other Republican contender with double-digit support among GOP voters, but he still lags Trump substantially. DeSantis has not yet formally declared his candidacy for president.
At a news conference on Tuesday, when asked if he planned to run for president, DeSantis chuckled and said, “Wouldn’t you like to know?”
Other than President Trump, Haley is the only Republican leader who has declared their candidacy for president in 2024.
